Carbon is a conductor. Graphite conducts both electricity and heat, and calcined coke or anthracite come close to it once calcined. Ordinary concrete, soil or paint, on the other hand, are insulators. Conductive carbon materials are fillers, backfills and blends that carry this property to where it is needed – into concrete, around earth electrodes and anodes, into coatings and grouts.
We supply the same materials we know from the foundry industry – graphite, calcined petroleum coke, calcined anthracite, coke – in the grain size and purity required by electrical and construction applications. In addition, activated carbon, which protects structures in a different way: it removes the substances that cause corrosion from the environment.
The segment is divided into four areas:
Conductive and earthing concrete
Carbon fillers that turn concrete into an electrical conductor. Earth electrodes and earthing systems, electrode backfills, antistatic floors, self-heating surfaces, shielding.
Cathodic protection
Coke breeze and calcined petroleum coke as backfill for anode groundbeds, graphite for anodes and conductive grouts. Active corrosion protection of pipelines, tanks and steel in concrete.
Thermally conductive concrete
Graphite granules as an aggregate replacement for concrete that dissipates heat. Cable bedding, underfloor heating screeds, concrete core activation, thermal energy storage.
Corrosive environments and activated carbon
Impregnated activated carbon for removing hydrogen sulphide, sulphur dioxide and other corrosive gases. Protection of electronics, control systems and concrete structures.
